The Schools of Etiopathy are institutions of higher education recognized by the Ministry of Education.
Organization of the Curriculum
Etiopathy studies are comparable to medical school. They last five years and the curriculum is divided into three academic cycles. The entire curriculum, including mandatory courses, audiovisual courses, group work, internships and assistantships, is equivalent to over 5,000 hours of work.
Academic Year
Courses are held during the academic year beginning the first week of October and ending late June. In theory, holidays correspond to those announced by the Ministry of Education for each academic year.
Requirements
Each academic year, students must fulfill certain requirements which include seminars and ongoing education programs provided by the individual schools. More specifically, these requirements include seminars that cover material from essential etiopathic subjects. Students from all over Europe attend these weeklong seminars, held three times a year (once every trimester). The schedule is set up in september.
Within each school, theoretical and lab courses are held once a week for 28 weeks. The teaching staff of the individual schools is responsible for setting up timetables and determining which day of the week classes will be held. Lab work: Thanks to a cooperation agreement, lab work for the Paris School of Etiopathy takes place at the Institute of Anatomy of the School of Biomedicine (rue des Saints-Pères, Paris). Lab work is held two weeks per year for third and fourth year students and one week per year for fifth year students.
Examinations
Each year, students must obtain a certain number of credit units in order to pass onto the next level. Upon completion of the fifth year, students who have passed their final exams and whose senior thesis has been approved will graduate with a Degree in Etiopathy. This degree is assigned by each school and made official by the International Institute of Etiopathy.
